MFA in Writing Program Director

Status: Full-time, salary
Reports to: Academic Dean

We are seeking a candidate who will:

  • Manage the strategic direction, organization, and operations of program
  • Oversee and direct the student admission and enrollment process
  • Oversee student retention and progress through the program
  • Collaborate with the faculty in the faculty hiring, retention, and termination process
  • Supervise program staff and program office
  • Design and manage program budget, as well as other tasks

The Program Director is a managerial, administrative position reporting to the Academic Dean. The Program Director provides administrative leadership for the program, working closely with the Faculty Chair, who provides academic leadership through a system of faculty governance. The Program Director role is characterized by administrative experience, an entrepreneurial temperament, attention to detail, demonstrated budget management experience, and excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Marketing Communications Manager

Status: Full-time, salary
Reports to: Executive Director of Marketing & Communications

We are searching for a vibrant, well-organized, media savvy Communications Manager to help boost the profile of our growing list of innovative fine arts programs. VCFA’s Marketing & Communications Department works to raise the organization’s visibility and promote visiting the College. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.

Major responsibilities include writing and editing press releases for exhibitions, academic programs, and external events, as well as working with the media to obtain reviews, features, previews of exhibitions, coverage of academic programs. The Communications Manager circulates relevant material to media, makes pitches, and partners and collaborates with writers and the College's Program Directors on an ongoing basis.
